I mean, I was already an emotional basket case because of the storyline in general and then Daniels added this as well I'm broken beyond repair.Īnd of course, there's not only Luke & Tessa. But I couldn't just not read, you know? I mean, it's a book about Luke & Tessa! These characters are so preciousssss.Īnd Max. This story hits close to home which is probably why I've been an emotional mess right from the start. Seeing them living through their own nightmares and working towards a HEA was intense and emotional, especially considering I'm living a lot of it myself as well at the moment. I love this family of characters so much!Ī beautiful addition to the series in general and a heart wrenching, sometimes really saddening but beautiful homage to one of my fave couples in this series Luke & Tessa. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. The writing, the story, the emotions, the characters, I loved it all. I almost never rate novella’s 5 stars because it always feels like something is missing, but this one was fantastic.

Seriously, this was the perfect little novella. Tessa and Luke are a fun couple and I love their banter.

Daniels really brought the feels with this book. Of course they wanted to do whatever they had to do to have a baby, but deep down, they were what each other needed and when it came down to it, they were enough for one another. What I loved most about this book was Tessa and Luke’s love and commitment to each other. I always say, if we’ve made it through all the treatments, failed attempts, and insanely high emotions, we can make it through anything. My husband and I have been married for 12 years and struggled with it for 6 of those years. Infertility can test a couple like nothing else can. How can you fix something when you don’t know what’s broken? And the most frustrating thing? Nothing is wrong. She wants a baby more than anything and it seems it’s happening to everyone else around her. Month after month, Tessa and Luke are disappointed with the fact that Tessa’s not pregnant. “This will test you in ways you haven’t been tested before.” They love each other fiercely and even through this struggle, they have each others backs. I’ve always loved Luke and Tessa as a couple. Sometimes the books you relate to the most are the ones that hit you the hardest. I laughed, I cried, and I loved it so much.
